Trip Story
It’s in India where the ancient roots of creative traditions are still living among the people. And in our experiential tour to any region, the discerning travelers get fascinated with the ingenuity of Indian creative skill. Hike down to ‘Living Roots’ , the bridges made by Khasi people of Meghalaya with Rubber Trees and Betel nut trunks to connect one village to another. Or enter the traditional mud houses in Rajasthan with natural insulation against dry heat by mixing cow dung with soil. Or explore the street side indigenous medicines made from herbs and metals –which nowadays have been proved to be no less scientific than modern branded ones. Lastly we can add the experience of Bengal sweetmeats – an intangible world heritage! Apart from the components of daily life, India’s heritage handicrafts and performing arts are also added attractions. We make it a point to include at least a few experiences in every tour we tailor. The crafts of intricate Indian jewelry, the widest variety of handloom textiles, and the pottery craft from North to South – each one is an entrancing experience to the urban tourists. If the time matches, we also try to arrange an experience to some traditional dance or music performance – folk or classical. Fortunately each corner of India till date keeps alive their traditional forms and regional variations.
